Who we are:
TRUSS Motivation was not born out of need, but because of necessity. The world today is very different than it was 20 years ago. These students need guidance to navigate their ever changing world. They need to be taught how to grow, learn, and lead.
As a teacher for almost twenty years, my rants and raves about dreams, life lesson, and responsibility became the highlights of students' days. As I shared my life stories, strategies, and experiences I realized students were taking an interest as my passion to create a better world for them showed through. Soon, it was year after year, class after class, that students continued to request a “Russell Rant” that TRuss Motivation was born. The goal has always been the same: To teach our youth how to be successful, powerful, self-leaders in this ever-changing world.
Tanner Russell was born and raised in Old Forge, NY. After completing his BA degree in History at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, he has taught high school history throughout the central New York region. He has worked in public education as a teacher and administrator.
He holds a Master’s Degree in History Education and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Building and District Leadership from Le Moyne College. He is currently a teacher at Town of Webb School in Old Forge, NY, where he teaches Global History, Economics, and Government. He also teaches college courses in AP American Government and Public Speaking through Herkimer Community College.
He has spoken numerous times for the National Honor Society and for Rotary International at RYLA 7490 in New Jersey.
Fun Fact: He has also appeared in the 2020 film Iris as well as the television show “House Hunters” in 2024.
He resides in Old Forge, NY with his 2 children.
